Dear candidates,
The Interior Architecture Department of Hasan Kalyoncu University began its academic life in 2012. Since the 2018 academic year, it has offered a Master’s Program and continues its graduate education. Our department is part of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture. The faculty building houses the Interior Architecture Design Project Studios, a Basic Design Studio, a CAD (Computer-Aided Design) laboratory and a Materials and Products laboratory. The university library provides access to current publications in architecture, design and art. In addition, current professional publications of international standard can be accessed through the many databases to which the university subscribes.
Hasan Kalyoncu University, Interior Architecture Department admits students under the TM-1 (EA) score type. 7 students with full scholarships, 18 students with half scholarships and 20 students paying tuition for a total of 45 student places. In addition, students may benefit from merit-based scholarships , and students who graduate first from the Interior Architecture Department with a full scholarship are encouraged to continue graduate studies, with or without thesis, to specialize in their fields.
HKÜ Interior Architecture offers its students Erasmus student exchange program, enabling them to spend part of their studies abroad. Successful students of our department who also meet the conditions of the relevant Regulation may graduate with a double diploma through the Architecture and Visual Communication Design departments of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture, taking a double major. The curriculum of the Interior Architecture Department consists of courses in four main groups: Design, Culture and Art History, Building Materials and Information Technology. Project-based studio work is an essential part of education.
From the 2nd year onward, these courses are supported by technical elective courses, allowing students to specialize according to their particular interests and building the theoretical and technical foundation for possible graduate studies. Students who successfully complete the four-year education process are entitled to graduate as Interior Architects and Environmental Designers. Graduates of the Interior Architecture Department may work as designers, practitioners and supervisors in architecture, building and building production, building materials and furniture design and manufacturing; as experts in real estate appraisal companies; as researcher-academics in relevant university departments; or as independent interior architects in their own interior architecture offices.
