Interior architecture and environmental design is a field of science and endeavor that plans, designs, details, implements and supervises the most suitable living spaces to improve people’s quality of life within the framework of user needs and economic opportunities. It includes many different aspects such as design, construction-management, material knowledge, technology, culture – art and aesthetics. Therefore, the educational approach of the program has a multifaceted structure that includes all these aspects.
Hasan Kalyoncu University Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design started its academic life in 2012. The purpose of the program; Having professional knowledge and equipment at a competitive level at national and international levels, following current developments, being able to define problems with analytical thinking ability and producing creative solutions to these problems, understanding the importance and necessity of interdisciplinary work, having ethical values, environmentally sensitive, entrepreneurial, innovative and the training of modern scientists and professionals.
The department’s curriculum basically consists of art and design workshops, studios and project studies that provide theoretical and professional knowledge and skills under four main headings: design, culture and art history, building information and production systems, and information technologies. Our experienced teaching staff is also supported by academics from distinguished universities and professionals from the industry.
During your undergraduate education, you are given the opportunity to do part of your education abroad with the Erasmus student exchange program. Additionally, students have the opportunity to minor or double major in the fields of architecture and visual communication design.
