1st SEMESTER

İCM103- TECHNICAL DRAWING (2+2) 3, ECTS:6
Introducing and using the necessary tools and equipment for architectural expression, necessary technical and theoretical information in architectural drawing, the concepts of line, surface, volume, mass, drawing of basic geometrical figures, the epure. Positions and projection methods of points, lines, surfaces in the epure, projection drawings, examination of projection planes, naming of views, appearance of three-dimensional objects, concept of plan-section-appearance in architecture, scale and dimensioning, dimensioning of objects, dimensioning principles and applications in architectural drawing.
İCM107- HISTORY OF ART I (2+0) 2, ECTS:3
In Art History 1 course; the meaning and importance of art, its emergence, classification, the concepts and literature related to the history of art are explained, developments in the field of art, civilizations that lived in the Anatolian lands starting from the Neolithic age, Ancient Greece and Rome, Byzantine Art and European Art; Roman, Gothic Art works are introduced. The course, which deals with the stages of art, will contribute to students’ understanding of the history of space design from past to present and how it affects the present. In this context, it will have a basic knowledge and equipment to ripen their designs.
İCM109 – INTRODUCTION TO DESIGN (1+2) 2, ECTS:4
The aim of the course is to introduce the concepts of design, creativity, abstraction, plane, surface and space to the students and to gain an approach to design problems. With the help of design ways, techniques, expression and expression techniques, it is aimed to provide students with the ability to design and interpret abstract concepts with the help of 2 or 3 dimensional sketches, 2 or 3 dimensional graphic expressions and models. Acquiring general concepts about design and interior architecture with listening-participation-thinking-research-understanding-transfer-interpretation skills, acquisition of architectural communication language, giving basic conceptual infrastructures such as interior space concept, space elements, space types; One of the contents of the course is to gain the stages of interior design, information gathering, research, analysis and synthesis.
İCM113-BASIC DESIGN I (4+4) 6, ECTS:10
In Basic Design I course; students’ visual field is freed from prejudices and restructured. Students are made to conduct studies from nature by examining the structural properties of objects through observation and perception, and their skills of visually perceiving, designing and expressing the structures and textures of objects are developed. Common values ​​required for design are discovered. The values ​​of the geometric areas on the organic structures in the areas to be formed on the inorganic structures are sought, and projects are produced accordingly. Formal expression language is created within the framework of color and form principles and relations, with colored applications made with charcoal, ink, monochrome and various paint materials. Three-dimensional designs are made with various materials and on different subjects. Through experimental research, students are given the view and way of thinking that a designer would need.
SSP100 – SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PROJECTS (2+0) 2 ECTS: 2
In this course, students have responsibilities to society and the environment; it is aimed to enable them to undertake tasks by increasing their sensitivity and awareness towards common problems. Within the scope of the course, it is expected to develop and implement projects for the improvement of environmental awareness or the living conditions of disadvantaged individuals-groups.
İNG101 – FOREIGN LANGUAGE I  (2-0) 2  ECTS: 2
In Foreign Language I course; It is ensured that the basic level of English language grammar knowledge is transferred, speaking, writing, reading and listening skills are developed, the foreign language that they can use in their daily lives, as well as the comprehension of words and terms for academic and professional texts, the habit of giving information in the field of profession, presentation and discussion.

In Turkish Language and Literature I course; definition and importance of language, language and culture relationship, the place and historical development of Turkish among the world languages, the current situation of the Turkish language and its spreading areas, sounds and classification in Turkish, syllable knowledge, spelling and punctuation in Turkish, roots and suffixes, sentence knowledge, expression disorders, reading comprehension and summarization techniques, oral expression, written expression, sentence and paragraph formation, writing planning are covered

2nd SEMESTER

İCM102 – INTERIOR DESIGN 1 (2+6) 5, ECTS:8
The process of centering the studies focused on the human body and the relations of goods and sizing and associating the goods or equipment with each other depending on different types of action; reinterpretation of the program over the developed or chosen concept; Depending on the development of the understanding of volumetric relations, studies including details on models and transferring them to drawing, weekly studies constitute the content of the course.
İCM104 – PERSPECTIVE (2+2) 3, ECTS:4
The main subject area of the perspective course, which is a continuation of the technical drawing course, is artistic or conical perspective, which provides the real three-dimensional appearance of objects with the projection of the central vision rays. First of all, the concepts of vantage point, picture plane, horizon line and vanishing point are explained. One-point perspective, two-point perspective and three-point perspective, the perspective of which changes depending on how the object to be drawn is placed on the picture plane, is explained to the student. During the semester, perspectives of small and simple elements are drawn in accordance with these perspective types, followed by more complex perspectives. Works are presented using pencil, ink or paint, and by expressing light shadow contrasts and distance-proximity details with color, texture and tonal differences.
İCM108 – HISTORY of ART II (2+0) 2, ECTS:2
In the course, which is a continuation of Art History 1, European Art; Renaissance, Mannerism, Baroque and Rococo etc. By examining their styles with examples, students’ ability to distinguish between styles, time and culture, synthesis and analysis skills of works of art is developed. Analyzes of art movements of our age, their characteristic features and works of art that represent a school or express a value on their own are made. Subjects such as the interaction between scientific developments and art are covered with audiovisual methods. In this way, students’ ability to examine a work of art from every aspect is developed by drawing their interest in the work of art and its events.
İCM112 – INTRODUCTION TO BASIC CONSTRUCTION (2+0) 2, ECTS:2
It is aimed to provide general information about the building and the basic concepts of the building, the components that make up the building, the structure, flooring, covering elements, and the divider, and to provide structural and detailed information about the shell of this interior space to the interior architect candidate who will organize the interior.
İCM114 – BASIC DESIGN II (4+4) 6, ECTS:10
In Basic Design II course; Students’ ability to create visual wholes is developed by making applications that provide form-ground relations with design elements such as location, size, value, direction, texture, color and design principles such as order, renewal, harmony, contrast, order of stages, sovereignty, balance and unity. In the course, in which nature, living environment, objects and works of art are handled as resources, the subjects are interpreted within the systematic of observation, analysis and synthesis. Expression skills such as active criticism, association, free judgment, adding emotion, reaching answers in different individual ways, producing new meanings, trial, error, self-sufficiency, openmindedness, flexibility, interest, curiosity and research are developed. Emphasis is placed on developing a flexible, changeable and creative mindset.

İNG102 – FOREIGN LANGUAGE II (2+0) 2  ECTS:2
This course is a continuation of the Foreign Language I course and includes pre-intermediate English. The development of all language skills in a variety of ways is encouraged while concentrating on grammatical structures. The exercises are focused on listening, oral communication or reading comprehension skills or a combination of these.

3rd SEMESTER

İCM201 – INTERIOR DESIGN STUDIO II (2+6) 5   ECTS: 10
Human-space relationships are explored with small-scale architectural design problems. Basic functions, structure and structure problems and spatial organization issues are handled by considering design principles. The relationship between visual, functional and structural factors and space design is examined at the scale of housing-housing unit
İCM203 – COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN I (2+2) 3, ECTS:4
The aim of the course is an introductory course for computer aided design and graphics. Getting to know the software used for architectural purposes in the course, learning to make 2D technical drawing with at least one CAD-based program, storing, output, drawing, editing, writing, dimensioning, displaying on the screen, querying, learning auxiliary and special commands, computer aided design and to give practice of technical drawing. In the course, applications for the creation and output of form, form, object or space designs for industrial, graphical and architectural fields in a virtual environment are made.
İCM205 – CONSTRUCTION KNOWLEDGE (2+2) 3, ECTS:5
Definitions and concepts related to building, architectural technology and building technology constitute the content of the course. Different carrier systems in the technological process are taught and model applications are made. System behavior against loads, construction systems, introduction to building sub-systems, structural systems, materials and system components, masonry and skeleton structural systems, foundations, walls and floors are given. During the course, site visits, practice-studio studies, drawing and modeling, and analysis and synthesis of building production and construction system are made. The parameters and stability conditions that determine the resistance of a structure are explained. Factors such as static, dynamic, physical, economic, aesthetic, legal and user requirements, which are effective in the design of the building, are analyzed.
İCM207 – INTERIOR MATERIAL I (2+0) 2, ECTS:3
The aim of this course is to raise the awareness of the student about the choice of materials and the application techniques of the selected materials, together with the awareness of space design with theoretical knowledge and applications. In the content of the course, basic building materials and their properties are reviewed and material selection criteria are determined. Materials and applications from traditional to present are evaluated. In order to create healthy, sustainable and safe spaces suitable for the purpose of use, the contribution of the selected materials to the design and application processes are explained.

İCM211- TURKISH AND ISLAMIC ART (2+0) 2, ECTS:2
To comprehend Turkish art, the emergence of Turkish society and the stages it has gone through until today are examined. The roots of our art are given to the students in a system based on which assets and traditions. The ability to recognize, love, distinguish, synthesize and analyze the cultural values of their society is developed. In the Turkish Art lesson; Starting from the artifacts found in the kurgans of the Asian Huns, the first known Turkish state in history before the adoption of Islam, the art traditions filtered from the Göktürks and collected in the Uyghurs are examined. The Anatolian Principalities and Ottoman Art are emphasized within the framework of these traditions, extending from the Karakhanids to the Ghaznavids, from the Great Seljuks to the Atabeks, and then to the Anatolian Seljuks and the other Turkish States established in Anatolia. The stylistic features and architectural elements of Turkish-Islamic Art, dome, arch, column, the transition from square plan to the dome, outline of the development of domed space in Turkish architecture, architectural features of works of art according to their functions, building types, plan, style, materialtechnical and ornamental repertoires are evaluated.

4th SEMESTER

İCM202 – INTERIOR DESIGN STUDIO (2+6) 5   ECTS: 10
The development of the design process within the framework of requirements, constraints and possibilities, starting from the concept stage, and its reflection on the indoor and outdoor organization are examined in line with design theories. The course exposes residential, commercial or public building problems, emphasizing the integration of interior design principles, style and design trends, furniture and material selection, creative expression and product knowledge.
İCM204 – COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN II (2+2) 3, ECTS:4
It is aimed to create realistic form, shape, object or space designs for industrial, graphical and architectural fields with computer and to present these creations in an appropriate way. Within the scope of the course, command-object relationship, basic three-dimensional geometric objects – ways of creating advanced three-dimensional geometric objects, property variables of these created three-dimensional objects – physical converters, basic deformation commands, converting two-dimensional shapes to three-dimensional objects, two-dimensional object variables, basic color – light knowledge, light types-effects, camera creation, environmental effects, photo-realistic painting methods, object animation and simulation creation. In addition, the works that last throughout the semester, and the creation of photo-realistic images and animation at the end of the semester are provided.
İCM206- DETAILING KNOWLEDGE (2+2) 3, ECTS:4
The aim of the course is to give the concepts of construction and connection and the connection relations between materials, to gain skills in solving the problems that may arise in fine structure applications of buildings. The course includes the definition of building material and construction, material selection, connection relations between materials, console applications from vertical surfaces, floor and wall anchors, stairs, mezzanine, suspended ceiling, light partitions and introduction of all kinds of coating applications.

5th SEMESTER

İCM301 – INTERIOR DESIGN STUDIO VI (2+6) 5,  ECTS: 10
In multi-storey buildings, the relationship between human and social environment is examined in terms of multi-complex functions. Subjects that give priority to interior and exterior lighting and furniture design, concerning about vertical circulation and structural problems, and sanitary and electrical installation problems are explored. In the case of high-rise buildings such as offices and workplaces, administration buildings, hospital buildings, education and dormitory buildings, reevaluation, aesthetic and physical performance conditions, requirements for the disabled, courtyard and inner garden solutions are investigated.
İCM303 – INSTALLATION KNOWLEDGE (2+0) 2, ECTS:3
Within the scope of this course; heating, ventilation and air conditioning, heating installation with solar collectors, heating systems and their basic features, ventilation, natural and artificial ventilation principles, air conditioning systems, electrical installation-related elements and equipment, examination of lighting installation project examples in buildings, lighting project-lighting installation project relationship, illuminance control systems in integrated lighting, preparation of the lighting installation project and determination of the use of the installation, sanitary installation-project relations, factors affecting the arrangement of wet spaces, clean water installation, sewage system rain water installation, environmental drainage.

The aim of the course is to teach the technical information required to produce ergonomic, original and aesthetic furniture. In line with this purpose, the subjects of designing, producing, creating a concept, formality in production, human-furniture relationship, functionality and detailing are explained in the course. Elements such as size, form and color in furniture are informed about furniture styles. Studio works are carried out within the framework of furniture design, form, structure and production techniques.

The aim of this course is to enable students to transform the spaces or equipment they draw into 2D ideas and application projects into 3D. The virtual creation of spaces or structures designed using computers provides the knowledge and skills to think and produce in 3D.

6th SEMESTER

İCM302 – INTERIOR DESIGN V  (2+6) 5  ECTS: 10
Buildings with complex functions in relation to human and social environment are examined. Subjects that prioritize landscape design with interior and exterior detail solutions, and focus on structural problems, acoustics and air conditioning, fire, emergency escape problems are investigated. Re-evaluation, aesthetic and physical performance conditions, requirements for the disabled, courtyard and garden solutions are researched in the example of large-span buildings with heavy circulation such as fairs, exhibition halls, concert halls, performance centers, sports halls, terminals.
İCM304- PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL (3-0) 3 ECTS:3
The aim of the course is to provide students with the ability to design natural and artificial lighting suitable for the purpose of spaces, to provide noise control in buildings and to make natural acoustic design of multi-purpose halls. One of the aims of the course is to develop the skills of using these regulations in building designs by recognizing building regulations and standards (heat conservation, noise, fire, etc.). It is aimed to provide heat and condensation control in buildings and to learn the concepts of environmentally conscious building design and energy efficient building design and to gain the ability to comprehend the principles.
İCM308 – SURVEY (2+2) 3,   ECTS:4
The course aims to teach the methods of measuring and projecting buildings that have the characteristics of cultural heritage. Methods for graphically documenting historical and architectural structures are taught. After the measurement and drawing techniques are taught, an application is made on a building. The building is examined in terms of its socio-economic value, design principles, structural system, materials and construction techniques. Applications are made with architectural photographs and scaled drawings.
İCM310-ENVIROMENTAL DESIGN (2+2) 3,  ECTS: 3
Concepts related to space organization, principles of space organization, criteria used in space organizations, product-human-environment relationship are discussed. Information is given on perception and environmental perception, environmental information and perception, spatial behavior processes and models derived from these processes, environmental analysis and environmental behavior, space and design, privacy, psycho-social field, environmental stress and theoretical approaches, and ecological adaptation. Small applications are made on the subjects. Information is given on subjects such as orientation to the land, benefiting from sun and weather conditions, evaluation of waste, recyclable materials, and ecological construction methods. The student is given the ability to obtain private-public space by making use of climate and environmental conditions with the least amount of resources.

Subjects that focus on furniture and landscape design, structural problems, electrical, sanitary, acoustic and air conditioning problems, giving priority to the work program with interior and exterior detail solutions, are investigated. In the case of buildings that can offer different solutions in environmental and cultural context such as museums, fairs, accommodation, hotels, cultural centers, re-evaluation, aesthetic and physical performance conditions, requirements for the disabled, courtyard and garden solutions are investigated.

İCM402 – INTERIOR DESIGN GRADUATION STUDIO (2+6) 5  ECTS: 15

In the Graduation Project, students are expected to solve a problem that coincides with the realities of the country by researching and interpreting it. The relationship between human and social environment is examined in building groups that have complex functions in natural, architectural or historical structural environments, which need to be fully or partially protected. Subjects that focus on furniture and landscape design, structural problems, electrical, sanitary, acoustic and air conditioning problems, giving priority to the work program with interior and exterior detail solutions, are investigated. In the case of buildings that can offer different solutions in environmental and cultural context such as museums, fairs, accommodation, hotels, cultural centers, re-evaluation, aesthetic and physical performance conditions, requirements for the disabled, courtyard and garden solutions are investigated. The student proves the complex problems he will encounter in his professional life and his ability to develop solutions to these problems.

The scope of the course includes the housing problem, its causes, various aspects, housing conditions in our country and the housing problem, qualitative analysis of the house, problems from the user’s point of view, evaluation after use, problems that arise at the scale of environment and space, evaluation of different solution alternatives; The study consists of examining and evaluating the selected samples in all aspects from the perspective of environment-housing-user.

Arrangement principles and techniques of the areas that make up the external environment outside the building are given within the scope of the course. It is aimed to convey the information about the arrangement of spaces outside the buildings to the students and to enable them to reflect their skills on interior design. Spatial Design, factors affecting landscape design (land form, plants, structures) and landscape structures (ground elements, surrounding and top cover elements) constitute the content of the course.
İCM325 – SKETCH TECHNIQUES IN INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE (1-2-0) 2 ECTS:4
