Interior architecture and environmental design is a field of science and occupation that plans, designs, details, implements and supervises the most suitable living spaces in order to increase the quality of life of people within the framework of user needs and economic opportunities. It includes many different aspects such as design, production-management, material knowledge, technology, culture-art and aesthetics. Therefore, the educational approach of the program has a versatile structure that includes all these aspects.
Hasan Kalyoncu University, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design started its academic life in 2012. The aim of the program; Having professional knowledge and equipment that can compete at national and international level, following current developments, able to identify problems with analytical thinking ability and produce creative solutions to these problems, comprehend the importance and necessity of interdisciplinary work, have ethical values, environmentally sensitive, enterprising, innovative and the training of contemporary scientists and professionals.
The curriculum of the department basically consists of theoretical and vocational workshops, studios and project studies that provide knowledge and skills under four main headings: design, culture and art history, building knowledge and production systems, and information technologies. Our experienced teaching staff is supported by academics from distinguished universities and professionals from the sector.
During the undergraduate education, the Erasmus student exchange program provides the opportunity to do a part of their education abroad. In addition, students have the opportunity to do a minor or double major in the fields of architecture and visual communication design.
