Message from the Head of Department

The aim of the Interior Architecture Department of Hasan Kalyoncu University is to train innovative and creative interior architects who can produce aesthetically and functionally superior, environmentally sensitive and sustainable designs.

The department aims to give students creative and innovative design skills, in which interdisciplinary subjects such as design, construction and management, material knowledge, technology, culture and art, and aesthetics are addressed as a whole.

In addition to theoretical courses, education includes practical courses such as studio work, workshop courses and project applications. Students acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, and through internship programs and project work they gain real-world experience and become prepared for the sector in professional environments. The Interior Architecture Department also collaborates with other disciplines such as architecture, urban planning, landscape design and industrial product design. In this way, students gain a broad perspective and learn to work in harmony with different disciplines.

During undergraduate studies, students are offered the opportunity to complete part of their education abroad through the Erasmus student exchange program. In addition, students have the option of a minor or a double major in architecture and visual communication design.

Graduates may work as independent interior architects, or take positions as interior architects and environmental designers in the private sector and public institutions. In addition, they have the opportunity to continue their academic careers by joining master’s and doctoral programs.
